We are recruiting on behalf of a well-respected secondary special school in the Erdington area of Birmingham, seeking a committed and skilled Teacher to support pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and complex needs. This is a full-time, long-term role with the opportunity to go permanent. About the Role: As a Complex Needs / SLD Teacher, you will: * Teach a small class of secondary-aged pupils with a range of learning difficulties, communication challenges, and medical or physical needs * Deliver a differentiated, life-skills-based curriculum tailored to each student's EHCP targets * Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team including Learning Support Assistants, therapists, and external specialists * Use alternative communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC devices * Provide a structured, consistent, and nurturing environment that promotes engagement and emotional well-being Ideal Candidate Will: * Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – SEN or special school experience essential * Have experience teaching students with SLD, PMLD, or other complex needs * Be confident in managing a team of LSAs and working collaboratively with support services * Be calm, creative, and passionate about inclusive education * Be willing to support with personal care and follow individual health and care plans where required What’s on Offer: * Competitive pay * Supportive leadership and collaborative staff team * Well-equipped classrooms and specialist facilities * Dedicated recruitment consultant to support your placement
