Imaging Research Scientist- ADME

Position: Imaging Research Scientist

Location: Rushden, Northamptonshire

We are looking for:

An Imaging Research Scientist to support a wide range of laboratory-based activities within Metabolism (ADME) studies, including QWBA and imaging‑based investigations, contributing to new product development in line with global regulatory requirements

Key roles and responsibilities:

Laboratory & Technical Activities

1. Perform the full range of Laboratory Technician duties at an advanced level.
2. Conduct established analytical procedures and routine lab tasks.
3. Prepare samples for quantification, chromatography, and other analytical methods.
4. Support colleagues as required, ensuring smooth laboratory operations.
5. Assist in developing new analytical methods or study types.
6. Execute complex technical procedures including: Dose preparation and assessmentDose administration/applicationHPLC setup and analysis

Study Supervision

7. Act as Study Supervisor on assigned studies, ensuring timely and high‑quality delivery.
8. Prepare dose theory calculations.
9. Oversee and support Laboratory Technicians working on the study.
10. Calculate data, perform QC checks, and prepare documentation for Study Director review.
11. Create experimental worksheets and compile QRA data.
12. Prepare study progress updates and data summaries for clients and technical reports.

QWBA / Imaging Responsibilities

13. Carry out all experimental components of QWBA studies, including: Sample preparationTissue sectioningSection exposurePlate scanningImage preparationQuantitative image analysis

General Responsibilities

14. Adhere to Health & Safety legislation and report any potential hazards.
15. Comply with GLP, GCP, and GMP where required.
16. Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and study plans.
17. Maintain an up‑to‑date Personal Training File.
18. Maintain confidentiality of all work and records.
19. Accurately log all work in the timesheet system.

Requirements:

20. BSc or MSc in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline.
21. Prior experience in an analytical, biochemistry, metabolism, or similar laboratory environment.
22. Experience working to GLP standards.
23. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
24. Good organisational and time‑management skills.
25. Competence in a range of laboratory techniques; imaging/QWBA experience is highly desirable.

27. Large Molecule Metabolism

29. Metabolite Identification
30. Radiochemistry, including API and IMP manufacture
