Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Solar PV Electrician role based in the United Kingdom. The Solar PV Electrician will install, commission, and maintain residential solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in line with industry standards and company procedures. Daily tasks include carrying out electrical wiring and terminations, mounting inverters and associated equipment, testing and inspecting installations, and troubleshooting system faults. The role also involves reading and interpreting electrical drawings, completing necessary documentation and compliance records, and ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with UK regulations. The Solar PV Electrician will collaborate closely with installation teams, communicate clearly with customers on-site, and support continuous improvement of installation practices.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as an electrician, ideally with hands-on exposure to solar PV or renewable energy installations.
* Recognized electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) and up-to-date knowledge of UK wiring regulations (e.g., BS 7671).
* Experience with installing, testing, and commissioning PV systems, inverters, and associated electrical components is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of electrical safety, fault-finding, and diagnostic techniques in residential environments.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation specifications.
* Comfort working at height, on roofs, and in varying weather conditions, with a strong focus on health and safety.
* Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to customer sites across the region.
* Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
* Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage time effectively on multiple installations or service visits.
* Right to work in the UK; background in construction, electrical contracting, or renewable energy is an advantage.
