Job Overview
We are seeking a Litigation Solicitor to join our contentious team on a permanent and part-time basis. The role involves providing comprehensive legal advice to Chief Officers, Members, and various Client Service Areas of the Council.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support our Senior Lawyer in litigation and contentious matters.
2. Manage a varied caseload including enforcement, environmental health, trading standards, animal health, planning, debt, education, and licensing cases.
3. Prepare legal documentation and act as an advocate in courts, tribunals, and panels/sub-committees.
4. Provide legal advice and advocacy at hearings, maintaining professionalism under pressure and meeting court deadlines.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will have excellent organizational and communication skills, the ability to manage their caseload independently, and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with stakeholders. Calmness under pressure and prioritization skills are essential.
