Principal CS&A Engineer
Location: Hinton House, Warrington
Travel: Required 3 days per week in the office and 2 days remote. Site visits fortnightly.
Arrangement: Contract/Staffed
Rate: Up to £60/hr Umbrella DOE

BPSS clearance will be required at basic level. Prior clearance will not be transferable.
The candidate that we are looking to recruit should have a minimum of 10 years nuclear experience. The candidate should have experience of working within a regulated and quality assured system (preferably nuclear) roles reliant upon pragmatic design judgement and where engineering was a major part of the role.
Specific requirement of a Principal CS&A Engineer:
1. Provide leadership, guidance and support to CS&A design and site engineering team
2. Check, review and comment on design submissions during development including site modifications, complete NFR documents and submit to Document Control.
3. Review, check and accept or reject design submissions.
4. Review the progress of all structural detail design drawings, calculations and documents.
5. General understanding of service supports and blockwork wall substantiation.
6. General understanding of fire strategy arrangements preferred.
7. Understanding of fire rated service hanger supports, attend meetings with Fire Consultants to review conventional and nuclear fire issue.
8. Interface with multi-disciplinary design teams on project issues. Liase with client capability as required to substantiate site issues encountered during construction.
External Works:
9. Good design understanding of external works, concrete slabs and drainage.
10. Review and comment on all interfaces between external works and the building external envelopes the construction progress’.
11. Regular engagement with the construction team and supply chain on site, attend weekly meetings as required
12. Attendance of weekly Risk reviews.
Essential Qualification and Experience required as a Principal CS&A Engineer:
13. Civil/Structural engineering degree or equivalent
14. Chartered Engineer (CEng) (MICE or MIStructE)
15. Expertise demonstrable in major projects areas to the relevant engineering discipline with a track record of successful application of specialist knowledge or skills.
16. Ability to provide strategic guidance based on knowledge and experience of projects across a portfolio to inform and direct projects and programmes
17. Experience of working in a nuclear sector, new build and decommissioning projects, in roles reliant upon professional engineering expertise and judgment.
18. Understanding of design principals and ability to apply them.
19. Have a working knowledge of British Standards
20. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
21. Full UK driving license.
