Start Date: January 2026 | Contract: Fixed Term (Maternity Cover) | Hours: 8:45am - 3:25pm (30-minute break)
I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a small, welcoming primary school in Darwen for a Special Support Assistant (SSA) to join their Early Years team. This is a fixed-term role covering maternity leave, starting in January 2026.
The Role
You'll work closely with the Early Years team to support children's learning and development, including pupils with additional needs. The school prides itself on its nurturing environment and inclusive approach.
Hours: 8:45am - 3:25pm, Monday to Friday (term time only), with a 30-minute break.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small group support in Early Years.
Assist with implementing personalised learning plans.
Help create a safe, engaging classroom environment.
