The Role
Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools are currently recruiting for a Sports Attendant (NPLQ Qualified) to join the ESMS Sports Centre on a casual basis. Positions are available immediately (subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks). The rate of pay is £12.45 per hour and working hours are between Monday and Sunday between the hours of 8.30am and 10.30pm. The role is based on the Queensferry Road site.
Sports Attendants play a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all users of the sports centre. You will be responsible for lifeguarding the pool, ensuring safety rules are followed, maintaining cleanliness and equipment, supporting daily operations, setting up sports equipment, assisting at reception, managing bookings and membership queries, and delivering excellent customer service. You will also carry out fitness room inductions, help meet health and safety standards, and assist with promotional activities as directed by management.
The ideal candidate will hold an NPLQ, demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills, and follow health and safety guidance. A positive attitude, integrity, and understanding of games-based coaching are essential. Experience in customer service, schools, or fitness settings, a First Aid certificate, and a keen interest in sport and fitness are desirable.
