As a PDI Vehicle Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring each vehicle meets the highest standards before delivery.

Primary Responsibilities of the PDI Vehicle Technician:
Inspecting Vehicles:Conduct thorough visual inspections of new vehicles for damage, defects, or missing parts
Testing Mechanical Systems:Check and test all mechanical components, including engine, transmission, brakes, and suspension
Electrical System Checks:Test electrical systems such as lighting, indicators, and infotainment
Fluid Level Verification:Verify and top up essential fluidsoil, coolant, brake fluid, etc.
Road Testing:Perform road tests to identify issues not apparent during stationary inspections
Diagnostic Scanning:Use diagnostic tools to scan ECUs for faults and error codes
Emissions and Standards Compliance:Ensure vehicles meet emissions standards and regulatory requirements
Vehicle Finishing:Clean and detail vehicles to dealership standards
Accessory Installations:Install additional accessories requested by customers, such as GPS or roof racks
Documentation and Reporting:Complete all necessary documentation, including checklists and warranty records
Team Collaboration and Customer Service:Work closely with sales and service teams; occasionally interact with customers to demonstrate vehicle features or address pre-delivery questions
Maintaining Standards:Ensure all work complies with safety and manufacturer standards
Inventory Support:Assist in managing parts and tools inventory for PDI tasks
Ideal Profile:
Valid UK driving licence
Own set of automotive tools
Experience as a vehicle technician, ideally in pre-delivery inspection roles
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
Reliable, well-organised, and proactive
Knowledge of manufacturer guidelines and safety procedures
