Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 (depending on experience) + overtime

Mploy Group is recruiting on behalf of a specialist engineering organisation seeking a capable Mechanical Fitter to support the build and assembly of engineered systems within a controlled manufacturing environment.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will contribute to the manufacture and assembly of engineered products, ensuring work is completed to the required quality standards and in line with technical documentation and supervisory guidance.
Key Duties
*
Carry out mechanical fitting activities across sub-assemblies and completed builds
*
Assemble and integrate a range of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and associated system components
*
Support end-to-end build activities involving fabricated assemblies of differing scale and complexity
*
Perform general engineering tasks such as:
*
Measuring, marking out, cutting, forming, and preparing components
*
Installing and routing hydraulic and pneumatic lines
*
Preparing components for joining and final fitment
*
Interpret and work from technical drawings, layouts, and assembly instructions
*
Inspect completed work for accuracy, alignment, and overall build quality
*
Adhere to all health, safety, and quality procedures, taking responsibility for personal and shared workplace safety
*
Provide flexible support to the wider engineering team as operational needs require
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
*
Background in mechanical assembly, fitting, or production engineering
*
Experience working from engineering drawings and written build instructions
*
Practical knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
*
Confident use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
*
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
*
Self-motivated with a logical approach to fault-finding and problem-solving
Desirable:
*
Exposure to multi-discipline engineering environments
*
Understanding of system schematics relating to hydraulics, pneumatics, or electrics
*
Experience in regulated or high-reliability engineering settings
*
Basic awareness of electrical assembly or schematic interpretation
