Area Sales Manager
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and managing sales within a defined geographic territory. The primary focus will be to build strong relationships with builders merchants and other key trade partners, drive product awareness, and achieve ambitious sales and margin targets.
Job Description
* Develop and execute a sales strategy to grow revenue within the assigned territory.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with regional and national builders merchants, buying groups, and independent outlets.
* Identify new business opportunities and convert prospects into long-term customers.
* Achieve or exceed sales volume, revenue, and profit margin targets.
* Provide customers with technical product information and guidance on application and specification.
* Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing developments to inform strategic decisions.
* Collaborate with internal teams in logistics, production, and customer service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
* Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and territory performance updates for management.
* Represent the company professionally at trade shows, exhibitions, and customer events.
The Successful Applicant
* Minimum 3-5 years' sales experience within the construction or building materials sector.
* Proven track record selling to or working with builders merchants (both independents and nationals).
* Strong commercial and negotiation skills with a results-driven approach.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a large territory effectively.
* Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Full clean driving licence and flexibility to travel regularly within the assigned area.
