Overview
The Mackenzie Resource Centre for Older Adults is recruiting a Social Care Worker to support the centre’s current five‑day service (0900‑1600, Monday‑Friday) and its planned expansion to a seven‑day opening. The role involves collaborating with social care and healthcare teams to deliver a person‑centred, outcome‑focused programme for individuals attending the centre.
Responsibilities
* Assist with the development and delivery of the centre’s social care services.
* Collaborate with social care and healthcare teams to support participants.
* Provide key‑worker support and person‑centred care for people living with dementia who experience stress or distress.
* Work flexible hours, including some weekends, to support the service expansion.
* Maintain accurate care records and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Experience supporting people living with dementia, particularly managing stress and distress.
* Understanding and practice of outcome‑focused, person‑centred working principles.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
Benefits & Working Conditions
* Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours, with pro‑rated part‑time hours and a corresponding hourly rate adjustment to keep pay unaffected.
