We are seeking an experienced medical secretary to join our forward-thinking team.
Our practice is primarily student-based and includes a diverse staff such as GPs, ANPs, Nurses, Physios, and Pharmacists.
We are also a training practice for GP registrars and medical students.
As part of the Tolson Primary Care Network, we collaborate to deliver a comprehensive range of enhanced services.
Main duties of the job
The role involves providing full medical secretarial support to all members of the healthcare team, including word processing and managing correspondence.
The postholder should efficiently utilize the E-Referral system and liaise with consultants, patients, relatives, external agencies, and university members, addressing inquiries appropriately.
The role is primarily secretarial but may include reception duties such as appointment scheduling, answering calls, and face-to-face patient interactions, at the discretion of Practice Management.
Additional responsibilities include collating reliable in-house statistics, maintaining politeness and courtesy towards all contacts, acting in the best interest of the centre, and undertaking other tasks as assigned by Partners or Management.

Position: Secretary
Full/Part-Time
Salary dependent on experience
Main purpose: To provide comprehensive secretarial support with flexibility to cover holidays and sickness, currently covering three days per week.
Occasional reception duties may be required.
Reports to: Practice Management & Partners
Main duties include secretarial support, mail handling, efficient use of the E-Referral system, liaising with external and internal contacts, and providing reception cover as needed, including appointment scheduling and patient interactions.
Assist in collating reliable in-house statistics.
Maintain politeness and courtesy to all contacts, acting in the best interest of the centre, its patients, and staff.
Undertake other tasks as assigned by Partners or Management.
