Job Description
Sunrise Children's Centre offers overnight short breaks for children in West Kent from the age of 5 to 18 years old, who have learning disabilities and/or Autism, and will have some additional support needs. These may include complex health needs, behaviours of concern, and help with everyday tasks. We support children to have fun with friends and peers, learn skills, make choices, and be supported in a safe and nurturing environment, so that they and their families can have a break.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, able to work as part of a busy team, providing high-standard leadership while creating a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for children and young people with varying needs.
You will be required to work a 4-week rolling rota shift pattern, including two weekends per month, and sleep-in duties. You will assist with and carry out personal care.
Qualifications and Skills
* Ability to lead a shift by example to the team and children/young people.
* Completed the Diploma Level 4 in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent, or willing to work towards it, applying training and knowledge in practice.
* Excellent time management and an unbiased approach during shifts.
* Willing to undertake training in medication management and keep competencies up to date, ensuring medication is given in compliance with standard operating procedures.
* Ability to work with the team to ensure all children and young people are given opportunities for positive and inclusive social experiences.
* Transparent communication skills.
* Awareness of the Children's Home (England) Regulations 2015 and ability to put them into practice.

Interviews will be conducted under the Choosing with Care assessment process, which will take place over two days. Candidates are required to attend both days.
