Job description
Our client, a respected leader in the aerospace industry, is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a site relocation project and play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations through this transition.
Pay Rates:
Up to £38 p/h PAYE + Holiday Pay or £43.52 p/h including holiday pay (Equivalent to £50.49 p/h Umbrella)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support New Product Introduction (NPI), managing processes from initial design through to production ramp-up.
2. Conduct PFMEA activities, identifying potential failure modes and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop robust action plans.
3. Participate in Stranger Reviews to assess manufacturability and capability for legacy and non-standard products.
4. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
5. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for both legacy and new manufacturing processes, including work instructions and SOPs.
6. Lead problem-solving activities, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
7. Proactively identify and deliver process or product improvements to enhance quality, reduce costs, and optimise production methods.
Requirements:
8. Proven experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role within the aerospace sector.
9. Strong knowledge of NPI processes and PFMEA.
10. Familiarity with fabrication processes, tooling, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
11. Continuous improvement mindset, with exposure to Lean or Six Sigma practices.
12. Eligibility to live and work in the UK, in compliance with ITAR regulations.
