This role is key in delivering Cygnus’s objectives on a global scale and provides the company the all-important Engineering support and product development. In line with our values, the Mechanical Design Engineer will become a key link between production and engineering supporting existing products, as well as playing a key part in influencing new product development & product improvement.
Provide Engineering support to design and development of ultrasonic measuring instruments.
Evaluate designs, physical testing, environmental testing.
Work with design subcontractors (CEM, Mechanical Design).
Undertake ISIR/FAIR on new parts (design dept.).
Coordinate new product testing and qualification.
Create 3D models & 2D CAD drawings using SolidWorks.
Production Support
Engineering support to Production/Operations.
Create & maintain Work Instructions for Production.
Relevant Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree (or equivalent experience).
~ Good commercial experience in 2D & 3D CAD Design (preferably SolidWorks).
~ Able to forge relationships with teams including operations, engineering and servicing.
~ 2D & 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks).
~ Engineering Verification Test (EVT).
~ Experience of injection moulding would be useful.
