Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the customs clearance process for import and export shipments.
Prepare and process import/export documentation according to customs regulations, laws, and procedures.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including tariff classifications, duty rates, and any applicable restrictions or permits.
Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely clearance and delivery of shipments.
Resolve customs-related issues and delays, communicating effectively with customs authorities and clients.
Maintain accurate records of all transactions, inspections, and relevant documentation.
Stay up-to-date with changes in customs regulations and ensure the company's processes remain compliant.
Provide guidance and support to clients on customs requirements and procedures.
Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.Below are some minimum requirements:
At least 1-2 years experience in UK Customs Clearance
Good understanding of CDS import procedures
Strong communication skills
Good knowledge of UK Online Customs Tariff website and other HMRC tools
Good understanding of incoterms in a customs clearance environment
Ability to troubleshoot CDS errors on a customs declarationDesirable, but not essential:
Good knowledge of CNS, Destin8, PHILIS and IPAFFS
Good knowledge of UK Export Customs procedures
Knowledge of NCTS/ Transit procedures
Any additional knowledge of special procedures, such as customs warehousing, IPR, OPR, personal effects and other
