GMMH is seeking an IT professional for a 2nd line engineer role. This position primarily involves supporting hardware replacement and covering other 2nd line platforms as needed.
The role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to manage workload effectively, escalating issues to managers before they escalate into major problems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Identify and analyze a range of IT problems, selecting appropriate resolution methods in consultation with the Operational Services Manager.
2. Provide telephone and on-site support to staff within the Trust.
3. Deliver high-quality technical support to all users connected to the IT environment, using diagnostic tools and fault-finding techniques to identify root causes.
4. Diagnose faults where feasible or recommend suitable solutions, explaining implications for end-users and IT teams.
5. Assist in documenting operational processes and procedures for designated services.
6. Set up, configure, and maintain end-user devices in line with the IT service delivery plan.
7. Investigate, diagnose, test, and resolve faults or problems from stakeholders.
8. Coordinate with customers on specifying and procuring IT equipment and related services.
9. Manage the commissioning and decommissioning of hardware and software, including installations and moves, liaising with relevant personnel.
10. Participate in the Trust IM&T on-call rota.
