Overview
Marketing & Communications Lead (maternity cover). Fixed term for one year to cover maternity leave. Ideally 30 hours per week, but open to other options. Location: Lewes, East Sussex. Flexible hybrid working, ideally spending at least 2 days per week in the office. Weekly face-to-face team meetings on Tuesdays. Reporting to: Head of Business Development & Growth.
Responsibilities
* Content planning and production
o Own all aspects of the content strategy and lead on its implementation.
o Produce the monthly Plain Numbers Insights newsletter, including writing and commissioning pieces, tracking key metrics and increasing subscribers.
o Develop engaging content for the website, including news articles, case studies, and thought leadership pieces. Content formats include written, video and graphics.
o Create and manage LinkedIn posts for the company page and support stakeholders with posts on personal profiles to establish thought leadership and subject matter expertise.
o Work with the partnerships team and external collaborators to generate content.
o Track and analyse metrics to measure impact and refine plans accordingly.
* Partnership support
o Engage with contacts in partner organisations to identify and execute co-marketing opportunities (e.g., case studies, testimonials, research).
o Build strong relationships with new partners to celebrate the Plain Numbers partnership.
o Collaborate with the partnerships team to identify and capitalise on communications opportunities.
o Support Plain Numbers Community events with promotion and organisation.
* Brand awareness and development
o Develop and implement activities to enhance brand visibility and reputation.
o Identify speaking opportunities, content sharing and opinion pieces with sector partners (trade associations and membership groups).
o Collaborate with the management team to integrate marketing needs into company planning and strategy.
o Measure success through KPIs such as engagement, followers, subscribers, views and downloads.
* Website management
o Maintain and update the website as a central hub for brand awareness and lead generation.
o Lead website improvement projects, manage third parties, budgets and timelines.
o Plan and execute external webinars; develop content with management and staff.
o Build a promotional plan to drive registrations and attendance, with post-event reporting and follow-up.
o Work with the sales team to track webinar-generated leads and pipeline progress.
* Capture and promote evidence of impact
o Develop and maintain a portfolio of case studies; publish evidence of impact across LinkedIn, the website and email newsletter.
Person specification
* You will be: Comfortable with a mix of thinking, doing and stakeholder management; responsible for strategy and delivery.
* Able to demonstrate high EQ, working with and advising colleagues including leadership, partners and stakeholders.
* A high-agency colleague capable of managing a varied workload with limited direction.
* Great with people and able to build strong relationships internally and externally.
* A project manager who combines creativity with execution and insight.
* No prior knowledge of the Plain Numbers Method is required, but the candidate should be keen to learn and develop this knowledge.
Essential Skills and Experience
* B2B marketing in consultancy, L&D or related fields
* Prior experience in a start-up or scale-up environment
* Content planning, creation, execution and repurposing
* LinkedIn for business and thought leadership
* Copywriting and editing
* Use of AI tools to support creativity, productivity and analysis
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Experience in account-based marketing
* Marketing automation to build lifecycles and journeys
* Basic video production and editing
