About Us: Positive Futures is a vibrant community-based project dedicated to creating safe and supportive spaces for young people. We are excited to announce an opening for a Community Sport Worker to join our dynamic team! This role is a 2-year fixed-term contract and will operate countywide but is based in Lincoln.
Role Overview: As a Community Sport Worker, you will be a vital member of an exciting new project. You will work closely with Community Safety colleagues to engage children and young people in various activities, including sports, group events, and social action initiatives. Through these activities, you will foster personal development and a sense of belonging among children and young people, contributing to reducing antisocial behaviour. Ultimately, your efforts will create a positive impact on children, young people, and the wider community.
What We’re Looking For: We seek an enthusiastic and dedicated individual with relevant qualifications and experience in delivering community-based sports and activity programs. A warm, relational approach is essential to create safe spaces where young people can thrive and grow. Candidates should have:
* A Level 3 or higher qualification in youth work, community sports development/coaching, or a related field
* Nationally recognised coaching qualification(s)
* Relevant practice experience in children’s services or similar fields
* Knowledge of key issues affecting young people, risk-taking behaviour, and trauma-informed approaches
