We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Ashfield District to assist with the appointment of a Complaints Officer, on a 6-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay : £25.04 - £32.04 per hour Summary: The Complaints Officer will provide administrative and investigative support in managing complaints across Ashfield District Councils housing services. The post holder will assist with the acknowledgment, investigation, drafting, and submission of complaints, ensuring that all matters are handled in accordance with statutory requirements, internal policies, and the Housing Ombudsman Service Complaint Handling Code. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accurate records while supporting the implementation of learning outcomes from complaint investigations. Responsibilities: Collate and review information relating to expressions of dissatisfaction from residents. Acknowledge complaints in writing in a timely manner. Assist with the drafting of complaint responses and investigation notes. Support the management of complaints in line with the Housing Ombudsman Service Complaint Handling Code and Council policies/procedures. Prepare complaint information for submission to the Housing Ombudsman Service where required. Requirements : Knowledge of complaint handling processes, preferably in a social housing context. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Analytical and detail-oriented approach to work. Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
