Principal Jetty/Coastal Engineer
Responsibilities
- Surveys and data gathering:
- Metocean
- Bathymetry
- Onshore topography
- Onshore/nearshore geotechnical and geophysical studies
- Environmental baseline
- General tasks for all projects:
- Existing data review
- Scoping, specification, and commissioning
- Supervision and monitoring
- Interpretation and determination of design parameters
- Studies and simulations:
- Marine offloading facility optimization, including:
- Dredging vs. trestle vs. causeway
- Number of berths and orientation
- Product storage volume
- Mooring and berth availability
- Sediment transport and siltation
- Fast‑time navigation
- Real‑time navigation
- Bridge simulations and pilot training
- Remedial / design life extension
- Bases of design, specifications, preliminary design, and detailed design for permanent and temporary marine facilities:
- Marine activities: dredging, reclamation, fill, shore protection, breakwaters, mooring and berthing dolphin equipment, gangways, cranes, navaids
- Structural components: substructure, trestle, loading platforms, jetty head structures
- Geotechnical investigations: piles and earthworks
- Commercial and contractual activities:
- Scopes of work development
- Technical bid evaluation
- Liaise with clients and third‑party contractors and coordinate with project team members across global offices to deliver tasks within allotted timelines and budgets.
Requirements
- First or higher degree in Structural Engineering or Naval Architecture.
- Experienced in conceptual, FEED, and detailed engineering of jetty or coastal structures.
- In‑depth knowledge of the latest revisions of applicable design codes.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks.
- Capability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Willingness to work in an office‑based role.
