Salary: £23,819.62

Contract: PERMANENT

Location: Coops Foyer, Wigan, WN1 1HN

Weekly Hours: 35hrs per week

So…. What is this role exactly?

This is an exciting opportunity for a Move On Officer at Coops Foyer, Wigan.

The role is based at Coops Foyer in Wigan Town Centre and will move over to our brand new Wigan Foyer in early 2026 when the development is completed. The new site is located just on the outskirts of the town centre next to the Leeds and Liverpool canal, offering a scenic location to work and live. The new site will offer holistic spaces for our young people to engage in innovative activities. This includes a well-being garden and collaborative working spaces.

As well as being based at a brand new scheme, you will also have the flexibility of travelling within the community to support young people in their own tenancies in and around Wigan that have transitioned from the foyer.

Coops Foyer is accredited with the Foyer Federation meaning we take an asset-based approach, called Advantaged Thinking, in all the work we do; encouraging young people to aim high, dream big and fulfil their ambitions.

We are looking for a Move On Officer who is as passionate about this as us.

What will my working week look like?

A Move On Officer works a 35hr week, Monday-Friday negotiable hours between 8am-8pm. These can be flexible to suit the right candidate but a level of flexibility is also expected in order to deliver the role around times that meet the needs of the young people in the Foyer.

What will I be responsible for doing?

As Move On Officer you be responsible for preparing our Foyer residents to move into independent accommodation by delivering the Move On programme to develop life skills ensure tenancy readiness. You will build and maintain relationships with local housing providers to help source move on accommodation for our young people and supporting them through the transition. You will then provide a floating support service to help support a caseload of young people to sustain their tenancies in the community.

One of the great things about this role is making a real difference in a young person’s life and addressing the potential threat of homelessness a young person may be at risk of, assisting them in their journey to independence.
