About the Role
We are seeking a committed and compassionate Social Worker to join a dedicated Family Support Team in Surrey (Weybridge or Guildford). This role focuses on early intervention and targeted family support, working with children, young people and their families to promote safety, stability and positive outcomes.
You will work collaboratively with families and partner agencies to assess need, deliver evidence‑based interventions, and prevent escalation to statutory services wherever possible.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake holistic assessments of children and families in line with statutory and local guidance
* Deliver timely, strengths‑based interventions through the Family Support Team
* Work in partnership with parents/carers to build resilience and improve family functioning
* Develop and review clear support plans with measurable outcomes
* Liaise closely with schools, health professionals, voluntary agencies and other partners
* Maintain accurate, high‑quality case records and reports
* Participate in multi‑agency meetings and contribute to safeguarding processes
About You
We seek someone who is a motivated and reflective practitioner with a strong commitment to early help and family‑centred practice.
Essential Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker with post‑qualifying experience in statutory social care
* Knowledge of fostering frameworks and national standards
* Ability to work restoratively and collaboratively within a team
* Experience working with children and families (statutory or early help setting)
* Sound knowledge of safeguarding legislation, thresholds and best practice
* Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work autonomously
* Strong communication, assessment and report‑writing skills
