Regional Team Lead – Contaminated Land (Ground & Water)
Location: UK & Ireland (and India)
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Service Team Lead in budget delivery and KPI monitoring, including weekly resourcing oversight to ensure required Project Hours and GCC deployment.
* Drive accountability for winning and delivering work to budget and programme with technical specialists.
* Disseminate company and team communications to ensure messages are received.
* Demonstrate technical leadership and oversee quality of outputs, acting as reviewer/authoriser of reports and bids as required.
* Ensure local site audits are conducted, identify support needs, and follow up on actions or training requirements.
* Promote a culture of health and safety on site, working with the H&S Group to ensure Risk Assessment Method Statements and Safety Critical Activities are completed to standard.
* Promote and enforce the Business Management System and internal processes among all team members.
* Liaise with Service Team Lead and Sector Leads (and Service Line Director as appropriate) for Go-No Go decisions, ensuring correct governance and authorisation.
* Lead, coordinate and assist major bids, reviewing submissions and contributing added commercial and technical value as a Project Director or Manager.
* Support international, national and regional business development through engagement with Sector Leads, market profile activities and key client involvement.
* Actively engage in key client relationships and create cross‑selling opportunities for the wider business.
* Obtain regular client feedback on performance, act on it, and seek improvement opportunities.
* Provide and facilitate mentoring and coaching for junior team members, supporting a client‑focussed culture with Early Careers Professional representatives.
* Support people managers in people matters, raising issues with HR/ER and providing pastoral support across the region.
* Communicate staff retention issues or flight risks to the Service Team Lead.
* Provide technical and/or commercial mentoring of junior staff.
* Oversee recruitment requirements for the region, ensuring alignment with team strategies.
* Ensure training requirements are addressed regionally and aligned with national strategy and competency frameworks, including mandatory staff training.
* Uphold and promote WSP values on HSSE, diversity, inclusion and equality.
* Maintain strong office presence in the region and engage regularly with team members.

Qualifications
* Relevant technical degree (chemistry, biology, geology, engineering, or environmental science).
* Working towards / ready to pursue a Chartership / Professional Qualification (e.g., QP) with a recognised institution.
* Willingness to travel.
