We are seeking a committed and patient Behaviour Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 4 boy who requires tailored behavioural, emotional and learning support. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers and thrive in a nurturing school environment. Main Duties Support & Engagement Provide consistent 1:1 behaviour and learning support Assist the pupil with emotional regulation and engagement in lessons Use positive behaviour management techniques and de-escalation methods Collaboration & Planning Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo and pastoral team Help implement personalised behaviour plans and interventions Monitor progress and contribute to regular reviews Daily Activities Support during classwork, small-group tasks and transitions Encourage positive social interactions and independence Provide support during breaktimes, lunchtimes and unstructured periods Person Specification Essential Qualities Calm, patient and nurturing approach Ability to build trust and rapport with children Strong communication and teamwork skills Consistent with boundaries and expectations Experience (Preferred) Previous experience supporting behaviour or SEND in a school setting Knowledge of positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation tools What the School Offers A welcoming and inclusive school community Support from experienced leaders and pastoral staff Ongoing training in behaviour management and SEND An opportunity to make a real difference to a child’s educational journey All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
