Job Title: Advanced Practitioner – West Locality Team
Location: Hexham
Pay Rate: £29.57 per hour
About the Role:
Liquid Personnel is seeking an experienced and motivated Advanced Practitioner to join a small, supportive Children’s Services team in Hexham, Northumberland. This is a 10-month maternity cover position with the potential to apply for other roles within the council at the end of the contract.
As an Advanced Practitioner, you will manage a complex caseload within the area of children’s safeguarding, demonstrating exemplary practice and leadership. You will play a key role in supporting less experienced colleagues, contributing to a culture of learning and high-quality service delivery.
What will your responsibilities be?
In this role, you will,
* Manage a caseload of complex and high-risk cases, ensuring high standards of safeguarding and care planning.
* Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to less experienced social workers within the team.
* Offer direct supervision to staff as directed by the Team Manager.
* Act as a Practice Educator, supervising student placements and supporting their development.
* Chair meetings under the Signs of Safety framework, including Child in Need (CIN) Reviews and Initial Core Groups.
* Work collaboratively with children, families, and partner agencies to assess needs and deliver effective interventions.
* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Northumberland County Council’s policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
* Participate in regular supervision and contribute to the reflective learning culture of the team.
* Promote and model best practice in safeguarding and permanency planning.

Qualifications & Experience:
To be successful in this role you must have,
* Social Work England registration
* Eligible to work in the UK
* Hold a full UK driving licence
* Post-qualified experience
* Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
