Main duties of the job
* Provide advice, training, consultation, and formal supervision to CAMHS Crisis staff.
* Assess, plan risk and care, and deliver therapeutic interventions for children and young people up to 18 in mental health crisis.
* Work creatively with young people, families, and multi‑agency networks in complex situations.
* Organise and chair multi‑agency, multi‑professional meetings and manage complex case management.
* Assume line management responsibility, manage the multidisciplinary team and resources, coordinate team to provide integrated service provision.
* Allocate, delegate and oversee day‑to‑day work of the team, ensuring tasks are matched to staff experience, skill and discipline.
* Organise team meetings, information sharing, consultation and mutual support to run smoothly.
* Conduct individual staff reviews, set Personal Development Plans annually and ensure ongoing professional development.
* Contribute to education, training and development of the team, identify learning needs, organise training and ensure regular upgrading of knowledge and skills.
Qualifications and knowledge
* Qualified health or social care professional (RMN, Dip SW, etc.).
* Postgraduate qualification or significant relevant experience in a related field.
* Postgraduate qualification/training in evidence‑based therapeutic interventions for young people in crisis or to prevent crisis.
* Evidence of personal and clinical development.
* Extensive knowledge of a wide range of mental health issues.
* Knowledge and application of the Mental Health Measure.
* Knowledge and training in evidence‑based interventions (DBT, CBT and other interventions).
* Knowledge of current legislation.
* Understanding of clinical governance and service development.
Experience
* Community, hospital and acute experience.
* Ability to manage many pressing priorities with professionalism and confidence.
* Leading by thoughtful reflection and evidence.
* Experience of working therapeutically with parents/carers/families of children and young people with complex mental health problems.
* Clinical leadership skills.
* Ability to provide presentations of a significant topic to audiences, with confidence.
* Experience of providing professional teaching and training for other professionals working with the client group within the service and within related agencies.
* Experience of providing supervision in group and individually.
