About The Role

As a result of a medical leave, the Department of Strategy and Marketing (S&M) is seeking to recruit a full-time Education & Scholarship Assistant Professor (E&S) in Strategy. The candidate will work closely with colleagues in the department to deliver and develop a range of modules offered in our portfolio, such as (indicatively) strategic management, innovation, international business and the business environment, global markets and global innovation systems.

About The Role

The candidate will work closely with colleagues in the department to deliver and develop a range of modules offered in our portfolio, such as (indicatively) strategic management, innovation, international business and the business environment, global markets and global innovation systems.

Responsibilities

The candidate will need to have experience in teaching and administrative responsibilities within higher education. Key aspects of the role include:


* Teaching: Delivering lectures, seminars, and workshops on topics such as business strategy, innovation, international trade, global markets, and organizational development. This includes curriculum design, assessment, and student mentoring.
* Administration: Managing course-related tasks, contributing to departmental operations, and participating in faculty committees.
* Student Support: Guiding students on academic and professional development, including supervision of dissertations or research projects.

The successful applicant will be part of a very vibrant department. Known for its diverse cultural and professional background, the S&M department brings a wealth of expertise across various domains, including marketing, international business, strategy, entrepreneurship, and innovation with a strong research and teaching portfolio. Our most recent rankings in teaching put us in the 3rd place for Marketing within the Southeast of England region, as well as 17th in the Complete University Guide 2026 for the Marketing Subject and 11th in the UK for Graduate Prospects in Marketing 2026.

About You

The successful candidate will typically hold a PhD in Strategy, International Business, or a closely related discipline and show case a strong background in higher education teaching, including the ability to design and deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and workshops.

Applicants for this Education and Scholarship Pathway Lectureship must be able to demonstrate a track record of excellence in teaching, supported by evidence of effective student engagement and learning outcomes. The role requires a genuine interest in innovative and effective teaching methods and pedagogy, as well as the flexibility to adapt content and delivery for diverse audiences in both face-to-face and online environments.

The postholder will be expected to teach and assess both postgraduate students, contributing to the development of engaging learning materials, stimulating classroom discussion, and fostering critical thinking skills.
