Offer description

We are looking for a dedicated Support Practitioner to join our team at Angus Court in Portlethen on a permanent basis, offering 16, 20, 25, 30 or 39 hours per week.

Overview

Angus Court is a busy housing support service. In this role, you will be part of a friendly team supporting seven individuals with varying needs. Your main aim will be assisting with day-to-day tasks and enabling participation in people’s hobbies and interests.

Responsibilities

* Support individuals with day-to-day needs including shopping, finances, cooking, appointments, personal care and housework
* Encourage and participate in hobbies and social activities (e.g., socialising, bowling, arts & crafts, soaps, going to discos)
* Adhere to routines and guidelines to support consistent care

About You / Qualifications

Ideally you will have experience in a caring and supportive role. You will receive robust training and have a helpful team behind you. You should understand the importance of routines and guidelines.

* A caring and compassionate attitude
* The ability to work well in a team
* Confidence to lone work
* Good communication and organisational skills
* A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
* Confidence in the use of computers

We will fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees, and you will be paid for your training.

Location & Travel

Due to the location of our service, please ensure you can travel to Portlethen. A driver with access to your own vehicle is preferred due to limited public transport links that fit shift patterns.

Shift Patterns

We provide around-the-clock support tailored to individual needs, including weekends and public holidays. Typical shifts run between 08:00 and 22:00 and may include weekends, public holidays, and sleepovers on a rotational basis. Sleepovers are paid separately at £100.80 per night worked.

Benefits

* Meaningful work that can feel less like a job
* Opportunity to make a real difference in your local community
* Empowering culture with teamwork
* No uniform required; casual clothing
* Funding towards driving lessons (up to £500)
* Reimbursement of yearly SSSC registration fees
* Access to funded qualifications through our Training Academy
* Continued professional development and career progression
* Refer-a-colleague bonus scheme
* Long service awards
* 24/7 independent employee assistance helpline
* 26 days annual leave (rising to 31 after 5 years) plus 4 paid bank holidays
* Family-friendly leave options (including family, parental, bereavement and special leave)
* Access to discounts for cinema, gym memberships, holidays and shopping

Other Requirements

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and work towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with support from our Training Academy. You will need to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting employment.

Please note: if you have spent more than 12 months outside the UK (excluding certain listed countries) in the last 10 years after turning 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate as part of pre-employment checks.

Cornerstone welcomes applications from all sections of the community and actively seeks to increase workforce diversity.

We are looking to fill vacancies as soon as possible and reserve the right to close the advert early if suitable candidates are found. If you have questions, contact Nancy Donald on 01224 782271.
