Roster Buchanan are delighted to be exclusively partnering with a Private Equity backed SME who are looking to recruit a Financial Controller, to be based at their HQ in Milton Keynes.
Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will play a key leadership role within the Finance team, ensuring robust financial management, statutory compliance, and timely reporting to support the strategic and operational objectives of the organisation. They will oversee all aspects of financial control, reporting, and process improvement, acting as a trusted advisor to senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
* Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial statements, and performance reports.
* Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting to the CFO, Board and Investors.
* Prepare annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and variance analyses.
* Oversee cash flow forecasting and working capital management
* Manage the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors and advisors.
Controls & Compliance
* Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and NHS contractual reporting requirements.
* Oversee VAT, PAYE, and other tax submissions in coordination with external advisors.
* Support governance, risk management, and compliance initiatives across the business.
Leadership & Team Management
* Manage and mentor the Finance team, promoting professional development and best practice.
* Drive a culture of high performance, accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, HR, and Procurement to enhance financial performance.
Business Partnering & Strategic Support
* Provide financial insight to support business decisions and new service tenders.
* Develop KPIs and dashboards to support operational and strategic planning.
* Partner with operational leads to improve contract profitability and efficiency.
* Support system improvements, automation, and digital transformation within Finance.
The successful Candidate will be a Professionally Qualified individual with a minimum of 3 years Post Qualification Experience in a senior finance role. They will possess proven experience of managing financial reporting and controls across a multi-site, service based business. Candidates will be adept across all areas of finance, including management accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, statutory accounting and audit.
They will have demonstrable leadership experience with the ability to drive a culture of high performance.
Strong systems skills are a pre-requisite for the role, and these will include Excel and NetSuite or similar ERP.
Our Client is offering a Salary of £80,000 - £90,000 + Pension.
**THIS ROLE WILL 5 DAYS ONSITE IN MK FOR A PERIOD OF TIME, BEFORE REDUCING TO 4 DAYS AND 1 DAY FROM HOME**
