I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a global full-service clinical Contract Research Organization with a strong reputation, stable client base, and consistent growth. This is a newly created, exciting role working with a high-performance international team. You will be supported by a respected commercial team and top clinical experts, joining an organization with a collaborative culture.
The role is an individual sales contributor position, primarily remote, focusing on the UK and Western European markets. Responsibilities include securing new business and managing accounts within pharma, biotech, and medical device companies across various therapeutic areas including oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. Success requires a hunter mentality, a strong network, and a proven sales record in the region selling comprehensive CRO solutions.
Your responsibilities include:
* Achieving sales and business development targets
* Developing and executing strategies for target markets
* Prospecting to build a sales pipeline and secure RFPs from qualified potential clients
* Using Salesforce to track client interactions and update opportunities
* Managing the sales process from lead generation to closing
* Leading proposal development ensuring alignment with client expectations
* Redefining profitable market niches based on data
* Providing marketing input to support business development
* Contributing to sales targets and strategies based on industry and territory insights
* Supporting pre-sales activities and resource allocation
* Engaging with agents and consultants in various regions
* Collaborating with research staff to maximize opportunities
* Attending conferences and trade shows to generate business
