Senior Systems Engineer An opportunity for an accomplished Systems Engineer to contribute to the development of highly complex, safety-critical systems within the aerospace and defence domain. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in analysing, designing, and verifying system solutions across the full product lifecycle, from concept and feasibility through to production and delivery. You’ll work at the forefront of multidisciplinary engineering, tackling challenging system requirements, performing trade studies, developing simulation models, and preparing detailed technical documentation. The role also offers the chance to mentor and develop junior engineers, helping to foster technical excellence and continuous improvement across the department. Key Responsibilities * Lead requirements analysis, system specification, and verification activities * Conduct feasibility and trade studies on complex systems * Develop and validate simulation models and analytical tools * Produce detailed technical documentation and reports for internal and customer stakeholders * Contribute to the design and development of safety-critical software and system components * Mentor and coach early-career engineers, promoting technical growth and best practice Skills & Experience * Extensive experience in aerospace or defence systems engineering * Strong grounding in multidisciplinary engineering concepts * Proficiency in modelling languages such as UML or SysML * Understanding of software development and integration principles * Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills * Proven ability to present complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences Qualifications * Degree (2:1 or above) in Engineering, Physics, or related STEM discipline * Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards chartership This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative, mission-critical systems in a collaborative engineering environment that values technical depth, precision, and professional development
