This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HSE professional to join a growing organisation operating across the engineering, manufacturing, and construction sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and enhancing the company's safety culture, ensuring compliance across multiple sites, and driving continuous improvement in Health & Safety performance throughout the business. As Health & Safety Manager, you will work closely with operational teams, site management, and contractors to implement best practice, support ongoing compliance, and provide expert guidance on all aspects of Health & Safety management. This opportunity may be of particular interest to those living in the Coleraine, Ballymena, Ballymoney, Limavady, Derry/L'Derry, Magherafelt, Cookstown or Antrim areas. In your new role: Develop, implement, and continuously improve Health & Safety policies, procedures, and management systems across the businessConduct site inspections, audits, and compliance monitoring activities across manufacturing and construction environmentsSupport and monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance, ensuring safe systems of work are maintainedDevelop and review risk assessments, method statements, and control measures to effectively manage workplace hazardsLead incident and near-miss investigations, carrying out root cause analysis and implementing corrective actionsEnsure compliance with current Health & Safety legislation and industry best practicePrepare monthly HSE reports, performance dashboards, and safety communications for management teamsSupport internal audit programmes and coordinate preparations for external audits and ISO accreditation requirementsMonitor HSE performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives across all operational areasDeliver Health & Safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programmes to employees and management teamsProvide specialist guidance on areas including COSHH, fire safety, occupational health, machinery safety, and risk managementPromote a proactive safety culture through effective engagement with employees, contractors, and stakeholders What you'll need to succeed: 5+ years' experience within a senior Health & Safety role, ideally within engineering, manufacturing, construction, or a related sectorStrong working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirementsExperience conducting site inspections, audits, incident investigations, and risk assessmentsProven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of an organisationExcellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skillsProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsFull UK driving licence Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't): NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualificationISO 45001 Internal Auditor qualificationTrain the Trainer certifications such as Manual Handling or Abrasive WheelsPrevious experience supporting both manufacturing and construction operationsExperience preparing organisations for external audits and accreditation processes For a more detailed brief and a confidential conversation on how Vickerstock can help support you with your next move, get in touch with Sam Geddis, our Health & Safety Specialist, today.Skills:Health and Safety SHEQ HSEQ NEBOSH Manufacturing Engineering ConstructionWHJS1_NI
