The Ridings Medical Group is looking to recruit anexperienced Dispenser to work with our existing dispensing team toprovide high-quality service to patients.
The successful candidate will mainly be working atBubwith surgery but must be prepared to work at South Cave and Brough surgerieson occasion. a minimum of NVQ Level 2 is required.
The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fastpaced working environment and be able to adapt to change easily. You will needto have a strong work ethic and be able to work to tight deadlines. The roleinvolves patient contact both in person and on the phone, so good communicationskills are required.

Main duties of the job

Dispensing NHS prescriptions for dispensingpatients and temporary residents, as well as private prescriptions to allpatients registered at the Practice, as required by the Partners. Handling cashand checking exemption certificates in relation to this and advising patientson the use/compliance of drugs as necessary.
Providing a repeat prescription service whichincludes taking requests by telephone, email, SystmOne and repeat slips.
Adding to and/or amending patients SystmOnemedication record, as advised by the doctors, discharge and hospitalletters.
Maintaining adequate stock levels of drugs withinthe dispensary, ordering as required (paying attention to costing) and checkingall invoices against stock received. Rotating stock to ensure short-dated linesare used first. Date checking stock every three months.
Processing MDS blister packs for those patients inneed.
Maintaining up to date records of Controlled Drugs.Carrying out a weekly CD stock balance check.
Ensuring prescriptions are endorsed correctly,overleaf completed by patient, counted, recorded and filed ready to be sent tothe PPA for reimbursement at the end of each month.

Job responsibilities
To provide an efficient and courteous service to all patients, whilst working within the Standard Operating Procedures as set out by the Practice.
Dispensing NHS prescriptions for dispensing patients and temporary residents, as well as private prescriptions to all patients registered at the Practice, as required by the Partners.Handling cash and checking exemption certificates in relation to this and advising patients on the use/compliance of drugs as necessary.

Ensuring an efficient service is maintained between Bubwith and Holme on Spalding Moor surgeries with relation to the collection of prescription requests and delivery of medication/prescriptions.
Maintaining adequate stock levels of drugs within the dispensary, ordering as required (paying attention to costing) and checking all invoices against stock received. Rotating stock to ensure short-dated lines are used first. Date checking stock every three months.
Keeping up to date with drug changes and advancements, sharing useful information with the dispensary and clinical teams.
Processing MDS blister packs for those patients in need.
Maintaining up to date records of Controlled Drugs. Carrying out a weekly CD stock balance check (on a rota basis with the other Bubwith dispensers).
Ensuring prescriptions are endorsed correctly, overleaf completed by patient, counted, recorded and filed ready to be sent to the PPA for reimbursement at the end of each month.
Maintaining good communications with other members of the Practice to maximise benefits to patients.
Working in accordance with the Dispensary SOPs at all times.
Attending monthly dispensary meetings whenever possible. Ensuring that Significant Events and Near Misses are reported and made available to be discussed at the meetings.
Taking part in an annual Performance and Development review as required by the Practice.
Keeping the dispensary clean, tidy and secure in order to run efficiently.
