Rate of Pay: £19.88 - £26.35 per hour
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Youth Justice Officer to join Sefton's Youth Justice Service, working in partnership with agencies to support children and young people involved in or at risk of entering the criminal justice system. The role focuses on safeguarding, reducing offending behaviour, managing risk, and helping children achieve positive outcomes through targeted interventions and multi-agency support.
Responsibilities:
* Assess the needs, risks, and vulnerabilities of children and young people
* Develop and deliver intervention plans to reduce offending behaviour and promote positive outcomes
* Manage safeguarding responsibilities and promote the welfare of children and families
* Work collaboratively with partner agencies including social care, education, police, and health services
* Support children to engage positively with services and court orders
Qualifications:
* Social Work qualification
* Diploma in Probation Studies
* Dip HE Youth & Community
* Relevant Youth Justice or Criminal Justice degree qualification
Essential Requirements:
* Relevant professional qualification in Social Work, Probation Studies, Youth & Community Work, or related Criminal Justice qualification
* Significant post-qualification experience working with children, young people, and families
* Strong knowledge of youth justice legislation, safeguarding, and risk management
* Experience developing intervention plans and support packages
* Experience working collaboratively within multi-agency environments
