About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and organised Communications and Events Officer to join the Compassionate Sheffield Programme at St Luke’s.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping how communities across Sheffield come together to improve experiences of death, dying and grief, while helping deliver a flagship annual festival and a vibrant programme of events.
What You’ll Be Doing
Event Planning & Delivery
* Lead the coordination and delivery of the Compassionate Sheffield annual festival and events programme
* Manage logistics, venues, suppliers, accessibility, and risk management
* Develop timelines and delivery plans, ensuring smooth, inclusive events
* Grow the reach and impact of the festival year‑on‑year
Community Engagement & Co‑Design
* Work with community partners to co‑create event content
* Engage diverse and under‑represented groups
* Support ideas that showcase community voices through workshops, performances, and discussions
Communications & Digital Content
* Create and manage engaging content across social media, website, and newsletters
* Produce materials such as case studies, graphics, flyers, and storytelling content
* Manage and update the programme website (Wix)
* Amplify community voices and lived experiences through digital channels
* Gather feedback and insights from events and participants
* Track engagement and participation
* Support continuous improvement and reporting
About You
We’re looking for someone who is creative, organised, and people‑focused, with the ability to bring ideas to life and build strong relationships.
* Experience planning and delivering events or community projects
* Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
* Experience creating and managing digital content (social media, websites, newsletters)
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
* Experience in the charity, public, or community sector
* Knowledge of community engagement or co‑production approaches
