Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Drug & alcohol Recovery Nurse to work within the developing Drug & alcohol Service within the beautiful rural location of Lochaber.
You should be able to work in a creative and compassionate way, under guidance from the wider DARS team and CMHT Lead. This is to provide high quality support to people who present with Drug and Alcohol issues and addictions to A and E/Police Colleagues/GPs within your locality.
Responsibilities
* The successful candidate will be highly skilled in assessment and assisting facilitation of treatment of drug and alcohol related difficulties.
* Ensure excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills are demonstrated as essential requirements.
* A good understanding and experience of assessing risk will be required.
* Ability to formulate and deliver plans of care is essential.
* Knowledge of current MAT standards and treatment options, alongside psychological interventions are essential.
* Deliver a responsive person centred, high quality care response with a focus on multi-disciplinary working and effective communication.
* Build excellent working relationships with partners such as police colleagues, A&E departments and GPs to facilitate safe discharge plans.
* Support the delivery of training to partner agencies as indicated.
* Provide a vital supporting role to other DARS practitioners and the wider MDT.
* Demonstrate effective multi-disciplinary working and act as an integral member of the extended care team to ensure safe and effective care within the community.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Strong assessment skills and ability to facilitate treatment for drug and alcohol related difficulties.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management abilities.
* Experience in risk assessment and planning of care.
* Knowledge of MAT standards, treatment options and psychological interventions.
* Commitment to multi-disciplinary working and building relationships with police, A&E, and GP partners.
* Willingness to contribute to training delivery for partner agencies.
