In November 2023, MMB secured its first ever framework with South West Water, the company responsible for the water and wastewater services of 1.8 million customers in Cornwall, Devon, the Isles of Scilly and parts of Dorset and Somerset. The multi‑million‑pound AMP8 contract will run for five years to 2029, with the potential for a further five‑year extension, bringing our track record of innovative delivery to the south‑west of England for the first time.
Role of an Electrical Engineer
* Prepare electrical engineering designs for water treatment equipment on client sites, including motor control centres, LV distribution systems, cabling, instrumentation, industrial networks, PLCs and SCADA. Systems will include both new technology and existing legacy installations.
* Apply all relevant design standards, including client and WIMES standards and legislation.
* Coordinate with the multidisciplinary design team to ensure designs are completed to brief on programme and within budget.
* Produce technical specifications and schedules for procurement activities, review supplier tender bids and technical submissions.
* Produce URS for control systems, review supplier FDS and attend factory acceptance tests.
* Review and understand existing installed systems to be interfaced, from site visits, drawings and reports.
* Engage positively with the client, manage relationships and support them to achieve their aims.
What You’ll Need
* Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
* Working towards IEng/CEng with a relevant engineering institution.
* Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
* Methodical approach to problem solving.
* A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region.
