Responsible to the Service Manager - Environmental Health (Commercial and EP)
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Undertake inspections of premises, business operations, construction sites, and permitted processes as required by statute and/or authority policies, ensuring compliance with legal and statutory controls, and taking enforcement action when necessary.
2. Write IPPC reports and risk rate premises.
3. Review submitted permits and complete permit variations.
4. Support technical officers in statutory nuisance investigations where required.
Qualifications and Experience
* Diploma or Degree in Environmental Health (or equivalent).
* Knowledge and experience in contaminated land.
* Experience in planning consultations and delivering high-quality responses.
* Knowledge of local authority air pollution control legislation, standards, and guidance.
* Understanding of statutory nuisance legislation and investigation processes.
* Appreciation of noise monitoring equipment, protocols, and standards.
* Demonstrable experience in environmental protection, pollution control, and statutory nuisance.
