The role
An opportunity has arisen for a site‑based Technician within the Network Integrity team. The role involves installing, maintaining, and commissioning remotely controlled switchgear and associated communications equipment on the electrical distribution network, up to 11kV.
You will
* Install, commission, and maintain automation schemes across the network.
* Actively manage network defects impacting automation schemes within your assigned area.
* Install and maintain automation‑related electrical equipment on the 11kV network, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and within required timescales.
* Assist in reactive fault repairs to restore the network.
* Work with the team to prioritise work requirements to ensure lowest possible network risk.
You have
* SSEN CAT 1–7 authorisations (or are working towards these), with LV and HV switching authorisations being advantageous.
* Strong time management skills, able to prioritise workload effectively and manage tasks independently.
* DNO network knowledge, with a solid understanding of LV and HV networks and automated/tele‑controlled equipment.
* Experience in small wiring and multi‑core works, with the ability to interpret single line diagrams.
* A willingness to undertake further training (including internal automation training where appropriate)
This role requires you to hold a full UK driving licence, as you will travel across the North of Scotland.
