Essential Role Requirements:
* Valid CSCS Supervisor Card & SSSTS
* Lead and manage a small gang of operatives, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of works
* Conduct risk assessment briefings and toolbox talks, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards
* Ensure operatives work effectively, following safe methods, particularly when working around buried services
* Oversee and assist with the setup and use of trench boxes, drag boxes, manhole boxes, and pipe lasers
* Supervise the laying of various pipes (concrete, clay, plastic) and ensure proper testing, bedding, and surrounding
* Manage groundwater and select appropriate pumps for specific tasks
* Ensure backfilling of trenches, manhole benching, and completion of external works (kerbing, edging, slab/block paving, landscaping) are performed correctly
* Read and interpret technical drawings, convert programmes set by Site Management into actionable tasks, and ensure timely delivery of targets
* Drive high standards in Quality, Health & Safety, and production by engaging and motivating operatives
* Assist in managing sub-contractors on site and ensure seamless collaboration where needed.
* Maintain expert-level knowledge in all aspects of groundwork, including ground beams, drainage, sub-structure concrete, roads, oversite housing slabs, and earthwork activities
* Provide clear and professional communication with all stakeholders.
Desirable:
* Additional CPCS/NPORS* tickets and experienced in operating any of the following: Telehandlers, Dumpers and Rollers
* 5-10+ Years experience in skilled groundworks
* Experienced working gangs/teams highly sought after with this role
* Commitment to professional development and willingness to undertake additional training

* Commercial awareness of site activities, with the ability to manage resources and drive cost-effective results

* Able to work well with other trades and operatives on site and support the programme delivery on time
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage operatives and liaise with site management and clients effectively
* Right to work in the UK
