Ecology Team Leader – Cumbria
We are looking for a Cormbria Team Leader to manage, inspire and grow our talented ecologists in the North West, delivering crucial ecological services across the UK.
The Role
As the Cumbria Team Lead, you will lead by example, guiding your team to deliver high‑quality ecological solutions while fostering new opportunities and maintaining strong client relationships. Your primary focus will be to positively lead, manage and grow our ecology team, providing mentorship and support to staff in their professional development.
Key Responsibilities
* Team Development: Mentor and inspire the team; lead line management, timesheet sign‑off and pastoral care. Foster a collaborative environment that supports professional growth.
* Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients, positioning Tetra Tech as a trusted partner for all nature‑related needs.
* Project Leadership: Take an active role in projects, providing expert ecological input from initial consultation through to delivery and supporting junior project managers.
* Technical Excellence: Provide high‑level technical guidance; supervise the development of standard technical solutions, verify compliance with regulations, and share knowledge across the national Ecology team.
* Business Growth: Contribute to strategy and business development activities; identify and pursue opportunities with new and existing clients.
Requirements
* Relevant academic qualification in ecology, environmental science or a related discipline.
* Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management, or Chartered Ecologist / Chartered Environmentalist.
* Demonstrable industry experience and capability to fulfil the role described.
* Full driving licence.
