PLANT OPERATIONS MANAGER / ACCRINGTON / COMPETITIVE BASIC SALARY & BENEFITS
For over 30 years Isothane Ltd has been a leading manufacturer in the polyurethane industry, supplying high-quality materials to sectors such as construction, insulation, and industrial applications.
As we continue to expand and improve our operations, we are now looking for a Plant Operations Manager to join our team. You will be encouraged to play a meaningful role in enabling us to exceed our customers’ expectations for high quality products delivered on-time and on-budget.
As Plant Operations Manager you will be a key member of the Operations Team, and will be responsible for day-to-day operation of the manufacturing area, warehouse and site. Ensuring production and safety procedures are followed.
This is a chemical manufacturing plant and as such a good level of process engineering will be required
Key Responsibilities of the Plant Operations Manager Role:
The management of plant personnel, including overseeing of staff training, associated plant administration, and disciplinary procedures.
Liaising with planning to manufacture products in a timely fashion to meet customers’ demands
Manage and monitoring daily performance of plant employees, providing feedback and growth opportunities, implementing changes to continually improve work productivity and processes.
Managing and maintaining regulatory compliance within the site. Compiling of risk assessments, Safe Systems of Work, ensuring supplies consisting of PPE, critical spares, cleaning material and processing supplies to ensure that adequate inventories are always available.
Ensuring plant downtime is kept at a minimum.
Managing and prioritising operational spending in line with agreed budgets, as well as providing general support to the rest of the management team across all aspects of plant and engineering.
Being first point of contact with enforcement and inspection authorities.
Good communication skills, written and verbal, in the English language and good presentation skills.
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.) and other similar software.
Able to motivate and manage a production and warehouse team.
Experience managing a chemical manufacturing plant and in production planning.
Experience of good engineering practices and chemical engineering will be advantageous.
GCSE's in English and Math as a minimum.
Technical qualification within an engineering field.
