About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at HMP Oakwood, a Category C men’s prison located in Featherstone.
Hours
30 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm (exact day to be discussed).
Salary
This is a part‑time role. You’ll receive an annual salary of £25,138 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK. Due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
* Work as an active member of the pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
* Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
* Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing‑based clinical areas
* Collect orders from suppliers at the main gate and arrange return collection
* Participate in dispensing prescriptions

Qualifications Required
* NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent, or working towards it
* Medicines handling experience desirable but not essential
* Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
* A non‑judgmental and compassionate approach
* Excellent communication skills
* Good IT skills and IT literacy
* Ability to work within a busy environment
* Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
