We are seeking an experienced Regulatory profile to ensure regulatory compliance across the UK and European markets for a leading global manufacturer of specialty chemicals.
This role is a key function in relation to product stewardship, regulatory risk management, and compliance for the company amid the high standards of EU and UK chemical regulations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of the overall SDS topic (classification and authoring), and regulatory frameworks such as UK/EU REACH, CLP, and PIC.
This position requires a high degree of autonomy, technical expertise, and collaboration with R&D, supply chain, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and support business operations.
Regulatory Compliance & Product Stewardship
Ensure compliance with EU and UK chemical regulations, including:
UK/EU REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals)
Other relevant chemical safety and environmental regulations.
Proactively monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on the company’s product portfolio, supply chain, and operations.
Advise internal teams on regulatory best practices, potential restrictions, and product compliance requirements.
Manage regulatory relationships with consulting firms, government agencies, and industry bodies.
SDS Authoring & Chemical Classification
Develop, review, and manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in accordance with UK, EU, and global GHS standards.
Ensure accurate chemical classification, hazard communication, and labeling compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Maintain internal systems and regulatory databases for SDS management and compliance tracking.
Poison Centre Notifications (PCNs) & Dangerous Goods Compliance
Maintain compliance with Member State requirements for chemical notification and reporting.
Advise logistics and supply chain teams on compliance with dangerous goods regulations for transportation.
Work with R&D teams to conduct regulatory reviews for new materials and product developments.
Support supply chain management by working with vendors to obtain regulatory documentation.
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Toxicology or Master’s in smilar discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Chemical Regulatory function involving similar missions
Experience appreciated in preparing and submitting regulatory filings for GB HSE and EU ECHA
Experience with regulatory software in SDS editing

The role is offered on a flexible basis of 3 days in office and 2 days work from home.
