Key Care & Support – Day Service Lead Manager

Key Care & Support have an exciting opportunity at their HUB in Sale for a Day Service Lead Manager.

Responsible for providing a range of dynamic and person‑centred opportunities for people with Learning Disabilities, additional support needs, autism, challenging behaviours and adults with Physical Disabilities. You will lead and manage support teams within the Community Hub.


MAIN PURPOSE

* Provide day opportunities for adults with complex support needs who access the Key Care & Support Community Hub provision.
* Work with local community opportunities and engage with voluntary sector partners.
* Ensure policies and procedures are relevant to the changing environment in day service provision.
* Lead forums and working groups relevant to service development.
* Agree appropriate packages of care and support for each person, with timely reviews, aligning with agreed Life Plans.
* Provide a range of quality opportunities and therapies, encouraging creative development within limited resources.
* Develop and lead staff groups through radical change, supporting them to work flexibly and person‑centred.
* Ensure budget for day services is distributed appropriately.
* Deputise for the Manager of Community and Outreach services when required.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (further details discussed at interview)

* Manage teams, including a team of therapists, and deploy staff to meet person‑centred needs.
* Liaise with care management and health teams and other relevant professionals to ensure packages of care are appropriate, value for money, and reviewed regularly.
* Ensure activities contribute to the agreed Life Plan and provide enjoyable leisure activity in a safe setting.
* Lead positively, manage the use of building space, resolve conflicts, and generate appropriate income from building use.
* Be available on an on‑call rota to respond to urgent queries regarding the service, buildings, and out‑of‑hours staff.
* Manage the agreed budget and ensure expenditure remains within set limits.
* Ensure appropriate transport support programmes are in place and implemented safely.
* Take responsibility for Health and Safety arrangements at the Community Hub.
* Collate and analyse relevant information regularly and provide it to corporate colleagues.
* Oversee an effective Information Centre.
* Ensure Policies and Procedures are adhered to and staff are aware of their responsibilities.


EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

* A Management Qualification.
* Extensive experience in a related social care or health setting, including managerial level experience.
* Extensive experience working with external agencies as partners.
* Substantial experience managing budgets.
* Experience recruiting and managing staff and volunteers.
* Experience arranging transport for customers.
* Advanced knowledge of legislation relating to social care provision and disability legislation.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation and local policies and procedures.
* Advanced knowledge of Safeguarding Adults policies and practice.
* Understanding of the social model of disability and of the needs of people with Learning Difficulties with complex needs.
* Understanding of the principles of Positive Behavioural Support.
* Understanding of Value for Money (VFM).
* Understanding of learning and development in service delivery.
* Understanding of Equal Opportunities policy and ability to deliver services within this framework.
* Understanding of principals and policies in relation to Quality, Health and Safety, and customer care.
