About Us
The Lord High Admiral is a busy, independent pub in Stonehouse with a focus on great food and community. Our kitchen currently serves SLAB Detroit-style pizza on Mondays, and from next week we'll be switching to a traditional roast offer on Sundays, alongside our pub drinks trade. We're looking for a reliable, motivated chef to take ownership of these two key days in our weekly service.
The Role
You'll be responsible for running the kitchen on Sundays and Mondays, delivering a consistently high standard of food. On Mondays, this means working with our Detroit-style pizza concept, SLAB. On Sundays, it's about preparing and serving hearty, well-cooked roasts that keep our regulars coming back.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing and cooking all dishes to spec (Detroit pizza on Mondays, roasts on Sundays)
* Managing kitchen prep and service efficiently, keeping a clean and organised environment
* Ordering and stock control for your service days
* Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards (to 5-star EHO standard)
* Working independently and confidently, while communicating with the wider FOH team
About You
* Previous chef/cook experience (pubs or similar is a bonus)
* Confident cooking both pizzas and traditional roasts
* Organised, reliable, and able to work independently
* Passionate about good food, presentation, and consistency
* Knowledge of food hygiene practices and kitchen safety
