Role: Registered Building Inspector
Salary: £49,277 - £55,681 (inclusive of £8500.00 market supplement) + other benefits and additional out of hours allowance payments of approx. £3261.6 PA
How would you like to make the step to join the Rochdale Building Control team as one of our Registered Building Inspectors, with an exciting opportunity to work towards class 3 registration status?
You’ll be working within a great team of highly professional Registered Building Inspectors and dedicated technical support staff who are passionate about the service they deliver and whose work was recognised at the 2024 annual LABC awards and our own council ‘ACE Awards’.
As a result, we have a strong public and private client base and can provide you with the opportunity to work on a wide variety of exciting commercial projects across the borough and further afield including for the BSR. We have also invested in a new IT solution offering the opportunity to get involved in digital transformation and developing new ways of working.
More broadly, the council has an exciting regeneration agenda with a significant economic growth opportunity for Greater Manchester and the wider North West region. We are already delivering on our plans to create over one million square metres of employment space, 20,000 jobs, and 10,000 new homes connected by new and enhanced infrastructure and transport links in Atom Valley and have ambitious regeneration plans for our town centres. Home to 8,000 businesses, the Atom Valley Mayoral Development Zone, Northern Gateway and Rochdale Rail Corridor - the scale of opportunity is huge and so there has never been a better time to join us.
In terms of candidates, we are seeking an experienced Class 2 A-F Registered Building Inspector who can demonstrate strong technical skills and commercial customer focus. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join a highly experienced and well-resourced team (including 3 Class 3 Specialist inspectors) with support offered to progress your registration to class 3 by supervised and shadowed working on high-risk buildings. We also require you to be able to undertake out of hours dangerous building work on a rota basis with the wider team and for which we pay an additional allowance and overtime if called out.
In return, we can offer a highly competitive package, generous leave entitlement and payment of your professional fees and BSR registration costs. We also offer a flexible working policy and have award winning offices in the heart of the town centre within the Rochdale Riverside development which has seen over £400m invested to deliver offices, homes, a new hotel and high quality retail and leisure facilities.
