We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Sports Coach / Girls Games Teacher to join our vibrant school community, where sport is celebrated as a powerful tool for growth, inclusion, and character development.
This is a dynamic role for a passionate educator with expertise in teaching and coaching netball, cricket, hockey or rugby and core physical education across a range of primary age groups and abilities. The ability and qualifications to teach swimming are desireable, but not required.
The successful candidate will inspire pupils through engaging, inclusive lessons, while fostering physical, social, and emotional development through sport. Beyond the classroom, you’ll play a key role in leading school teams, officiating fixtures, and enriching our extra-curricular programme.
Reports to: The Head, the Director of Sport
Hours, Salary & Benefits:
Contract: Part-time, permanent
Hours: 17.5hrs per week, term time plus 1 week during school holidays, Monday and Wednesday 8am to 3:30pm, Fridays 1pm - 3:30pm. Overtime will be paid for sports fixtures which return after 3:30pm.
Salary: commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Job Description:
8. To teach and coach netball, cricket and hockey or rugby and core PE to pupils of varying ages and abilities.
9. The ability to teach swimming is desirable, but not a requirement
10. To plan, deliver and assess children’s progress and attainment
11. To support pupils’ physical, social and emotional development through sport and PE.
12. To lead and supervise teams on fixtures against other schools, officiate matches and assist with team selection
13. To contribute to extra-curricular sports and enrichment activities
14. To maintain high professional standards, being a positive role model for staff and pupils.
15. To ensure the safety, inclusion and wellbeing of all pupils at all times.
16. A full Paediatric First Aid qualification is desired but training can be provided
17. To have the D1 (minibus) driving qualification or the willingness to undergo training is desirable
Person Specification:
18. Coaching/teaching qualifications in various sports
19. Willingness to undertake relevant training, including safeguarding and paediatric first aid.
20. Experience of teaching PE and games to pupils of varying ages and abilities.
21. Specialist knowledge and playing/coaching experience in either hockey, netball, rugby, or cricket.
22. Experience of coaching, refereeing/umpiring, and team management.
23. Strong organisational and time management skills.
24. Confidence in leading teams, officiating matches, and coordinating fixtures.
25. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with pupils, colleagues and parents.
26. Ability to adapt teaching to meet the needs of individuals and groups.
27. Enthusiastic and passionate about sport and physical education.
28. Positive role model with a commitment to pupil welfare and inclusion.
29. Team player with a collaborative approach.
30. Flexible, resilient, and able to respond effectively to challenges.
31. Experience of working in a school environment.
