Overview
An opportunity has arisen within the Payroll Services team for a Payroll Practitioner to support an exciting programme of change, including the deployment of new payroll technology.
Responsibilities
* Supporting the BMS replacement programme, including Pensions payroll.
* Supporting the Senior Practitioners in day to day activities.
* Providing advice, guidance and support to colleagues.
* Investigating, analysing and managing the resolution of payroll incidents.
* Work with wider payroll colleagues in supporting payroll projects.
You will have good working knowledge of Payroll processes including Tax, National Insurance and Pension Contributions and statutory provisions. You will need to be organised, with a positive and flexible approach to teamwork. Good communication, literacy and numeracy skills are essential, as is knowledge of computerised/manual systems and business processes.
You must be able to work to deadlines, in a logical and methodical manner, using your own initiative and be able to follow agreed procedures and guidelines, consistently achieving a high level of accuracy. An understanding of customer service and the boundaries of confidentiality is also essential.
This post is also available as a secondment opportunity to existing Nottinghamshire County Council employees. You must seek approval from your line manager before applying.
